Who even is she?

I’m Debs. I started training to become a hairdresser in 2010. After working in the industry for a few years I realised I preferred working with short, precise styles so I focused on barbering and made the switch full time in 2015.

I turned up to work the first week of 2016 only to discover I had been fired from my self employed barbering job - oh shit - and a few days later Obsessive Compulsive Barber was born.

I’ve gone from renting a chair in a salon, to renting a room from a salon, to renting a whole floor of a building. Still just me, on my own. That’s the way I like to work.

I offer a private, appointment only, one on one barbering service to anyone who wants a haircut. The only caveat is that it has to be a haircut I feel I can do well for you, so it’s mainly barbering but I take on a small amount of basic hairdressing work after consultation.

You’ll have the place to yourself so you can feel as comfortable as possible. This is for my benefit too as I prefer a more chilled environment to work in rather than a busy shop. I have OCD and working this way makes me happiest. It’s my goal to make anyone feel welcome to come in and get a haircut with me. It doesn't matter if you’re anxious or feel awkward or overwhelmed - I usually do too.

You can expect a metal soundtrack, chats about life, food, movies and other nonsense. I do like to talk when I cut hair as it makes me feel less anxious. I like to get to know the people whose hair I cut and we always end up finding something to chat about.

That’s everything in a nutshell, if you have any questions just get in touch!

Things about me that don't involve cutting hair or running a business: In my spare time you can find me exploring graveyards, hiking, mushroom foraging, going to gigs, pole dancing, weightlifting, eating food and sleeping.
